PANCHAKARMA
Pre-Purification Measures
Before the actual operation of purification begins, we must prepare the body with prescribed methods to encourage it to let go of the toxins. These two procedures are Snehana and Svedana.
Snehana
Snehana involves applying warm, medicinal oils to the body and sometimes taking oils internally to help move and remove toxins. This process, tailored to each patient, loosens toxins and prepares the body for further treatment, typically recommended daily for three to seven days.
Svedana
n Ayurveda, Svedana, or steam therapy, follows oleation to dislodge and liquefy toxins, improve digestion, and reduce muscle tension. At Be You Aesthetics, personalized herbal concoctions are added to the steam to enhance detoxification and restore balance.
Vamana
Vamana is guided emesis, which expels the accumulated toxins through vomiting. The best time to practice is during late spring or early summer (Kapha-provoking time) and close to the full moon when the water element is high, one day after Snehana and Svedhana, after a good sleep, after food is digested, or after sunrise—6:00 to 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. (Kapha time).
Virechan
Excess bile (pitta) can lead to skin issues, fever, and nausea. If Vamana isn't suitable, Virechana is used after a three-day preparatory phase of Snehana (oleation) and Svedana (steam therapy) to cleanse the blood, digestive organs, and other systems.
Basti
Basti is an enema therapy that introduces medicated oil or ghee into the rectum to eliminate excess Vata dosha. At Be You Aesthetics, this treatment helps lubricate the colon, loosen impurities, and promote toxin removal from the body.
Shirodhara
Shirodhara involves the steady dripping of medicated oil on the forehead to relax the mind, eliminate mental toxins, and balance doshas. This therapy stimulates vital points, boosts circulation, and deeply nourishes the scalp, providing a soothing and purifying effect
Shiro Basti
Shiro Basti involves warm oil being poured and retained on the head, followed by a head massage. It effectively treats depression, headaches, and insomnia, while also addressing dryness and hair loss, calming the nervous system, and revitalizing the mind.
Pinda Sweda
Pinda Sweda is a traditional massage therapy using warm, herb-infused oil-filled cloth bags applied to joints and muscles. It alleviates pain, inflammation, and stiffness while improving blood circulation, joint flexibility, and overall relaxation.
Pizhichil
Pizhichil, or Thailadhara, is a detox therapy involving continuous warm medicated oil poured over the body while being massaged. This treatment loosens toxins, enhances circulation, relaxes muscles, and promotes overall physical and mental well-being.
PCOD/PCOS
At Be You Aesthetics, we address PCOS and PCOD using Ayurvedic methods, including dietary changes, herbal medicines, and Panchakarma therapies like Virechana and Basti. These therapies help clear skin issues, reduce obesity, and improve overall health by treating the root causes of these conditions.
Nasya
Nasya is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy that involves the administration of medicated oil or herbal extracts through the nostrils. The type of medicated oil or herbal extracts used in Nasya treatment depends on the individual's condition and constitution,
Raktamokshan
Therapeutic toxic bloodletting (Raktamokshana) involves releasing toxic blood from various body sites. The impure blood is let out as it causes various skin and body illnesses. 2 to 8 ounces is the general amount of the released. Bloodletting is useful when wishing for immediate results with Pitta disorders such as skin, liver, spleen, and conditions like gout, headaches, and hypertension.
